Questions to cover BEFORE you marry!!!
1) Do we truly listen to each other and fairly consider one another’s ideas and complaints?
2) Does each of us feel fully confident in the other’s commitment to the marriage and believe that the bond can survive whatever challenges we may face?
3) Are there some things that you and I are NOT prepared to give up in the marriage?
4) Do we have a detailed list of each other’s financial obligations and goals, and do our ideas about spending and saving mesh?
5) Have we discussed whether or not to have children, and if the answer is yes, who is going to be the primary care giver?
6) Have you tried living together 1st, if so, what conclusions have you made that should be discussed.
7) Have we discussed our expectations for how the household will be maintained, and are we in agreement on who will manage the chores?
8) Have we reached a clear understanding of each other’s spiritual beliefs, and discussed when and how our children will be exposed to religious/moral education?
9) If you have a child(ren) and there significant does not. Have you come to an agreement on how and what your boundaries are disciplining his/her child.
10) Can we comfortably and openly discuss our sexual needs, preferences and fears? VERY IMPORTANT!
11) Is my partner affectionate to the degree that I expect?
12) What are the do’s/don’ts that will turn us off physically which can later lead to wandering eyes?
13) If one of us were to be offered a career opportunity in a location far from the family, are we prepared to move?
14) Do we value and respect each other’s parents, and is either of us concerned about whether the parents will interfere with the relationship?
15) What does my family do that annoys you?
16) Do you like Strip Clubs? If you want a honest answer deliver this question OPENLY as if you like them. I know too many married men that go to these behind their wife's back because she is not open enough and this is how lies start! NOT GOOD!
17) Do we like and respect each other’s friends?
18) Have we fully disclosed our health histories, both physical and mental?
19) Are you both in agreement with a certain lifestyle you plan to have?
20) Will there be a prenup or any contracts?
